DÍA 1: Nairobi – Ngurunit (4 horas)

Tomaremos un vuelo temprano por la mañana a Isiolo/Samburu. A su llegada, nuestro equipo de guías-conductores les recibirá. Partiremos para un emocionante viaje por el desierto de Kakuya, siguiendo el caudaloso río Ewaso Ngiro, que se extiende hacia Etiopía hasta unirse a la cuenca del río Omo. Conduciremos a través de las escarpadas dunas del desierto, disfrutando de las impresionantes vistas del pintoresco monte Kulal. Atravesaremos estas llanuras, hogar del pueblo Rendile, y llegaremos al campamento Ndotto a tiempo para el almuerzo. Por la tarde, tendremos un primer contacto con la cultura Rendile visitando las pozas naturales y los toboganes de agua de Ngurunit, y observando cómo los lugareños abrevan y pastorean su ganado. DÍA 2: Ngurunit

Today we continue to explore Rendile country. After breakfast, we will take a walk to explore the desert and visit the mighty Migris river, a special feeding point of wildlife and domestic animals. This river with heavy white sands spreads at over 50-meter-wide with Rendile singing watering wells is the main watering point for their animals. Elephants and other wild animals take advantage to water in the same wells. A visit to the local villages is a discovery. We learn and experience firsthand, the livelihood of the Rendile people milking their camels and goats as their only way of survival in this desert. Meals and overnight at Ndotto Camp. DÍA 3: Ngurunit – Loiyangalani (6 horas)

Después del desayuno, nos dirigimos al norte, disfrutando de excursiones por las exuberantes colinas de Samburu, incluyendo la montaña sagrada de Ngiro y el monte Kulal, con vistas al lago Turkana. Pasamos por South Horr, un oasis habitado por miembros de la tribu Samburu, donde haremos una breve pausa para almorzar en la selva. Llegamos a Loyangalani por la tarde. Alojamiento y comidas en el Hotel Palm Shade. Comidas: Desayuno, Almuerzo, Cena

DÍA 4: El Molo Land

Visitaremos a la tribu El Molo, la tribu más pequeña que aún existe y que se encuentra en peligro de extinción. Su única supervivencia en las aguas saladas del lago se basa en la pesca de tilapia y cocodrilos, sus únicos alimentos. Es admirable la resiliencia de esta tribu marginada. Visitaremos el museo del desierto, donde se pueden observar las herramientas y utensilios de las tribus del norte, que han utilizado a lo largo de su historia. DÍA 5: Turkana

Loyangalani es el centro de cuatro tribus: Turkana, Rendile, Samburu y El Molo. Hoy pasaremos el día con el pueblo Turkana en la región que rodea el lago Turkana. El lago Turkana es el lago desértico más largo del mundo, anteriormente conocido como lago Rodolfo. Visitaremos tres aldeas Turkana para conocer su forma de vida en esta región fronteriza del norte. Alojamiento y comidas en el Hotel Palm Shade. Comidas: Desayuno, Almuerzo, Cena

DÍA 6: Loiyangalani – Maikona (Pueblo Gabra) – 6 horas

Después del desayuno, nos dirigiremos hacia el norte disfrutando de los hermosos paisajes. Pasaremos por North Horr, una zona habitada por la tribu Gabra. Visitaremos una duna de arena antes de entrar al desierto de Chalbi a través del centro de Kalacha y pasar la noche en Maikona, en una misión católica. Comidas: Desayuno, Almuerzo, Cena

DÍA 7: Maikona- Marsabit (Borana y Chalbi Desert) – 3 hotas

Maikona es un centro para la tribu Borana, que habita en el desierto de Chalbi. Visitaremos su aldea y las dunas de arena más largas. Posteriormente, partiremos hacia Marsabit para pasar la noche. Cena y alojamiento en el Hotel Big Tusks. Comidas: Desayuno, Almuerzo, Cena

DÍA 8: Marsabit – Nairobi (9 horas en coche o 5 horas en coche y vuelo)

Hoy disfrutaremos de un desayuno tranquilo. Después, emprenderemos un viaje por carretera a través de la fértil región agrícola del centro de Kenia, regresando a Nairobi por la tarde. Si lo prefiere, podemos dejarle en Isiolo para que tome un vuelo a Nairobi. Comidas: Desayuno, Almuerzo

DAY 1: Nairobi – Ngurunit (4 hours)

We take an early morning flight to Isiolo/Samburu. On arrival, you will be received by our team of driver guides. We depart for an exciting drive into the Kakuya desert along the mighty Ewaso Ngiro river spreading all along towards Ethiopia joining the river Omo basin. We drive through rough sand dunes of the Desert while enjoying the stunning views over the scenic Mount Kulal. We will transverse these plains which is home to the Rendile people and arrive at the Ndotto Camp in time for lunch. In the afternoon we will have our first feel of the Rendile people by visiting Ngurunit Rock pools and water slides and watch as the local people water and graze their livestock. Meals: Lunch, Dinner

DAY 2: Ngurunit

DAY 3: Ngurunit – Loiyangalani (6 hours)

After breakfast, we head North enjoying excursions along the rich hills of Samburu Sacred mountain of Ngiro and Mount Kulal overlooking the Lake Turkana. We pass through South Horr, an oasis Centre occupied by the Samburu tribesmen for a brief lunch break in the jungle. We arrive at Loyangalani in the evening. Meals and overnight at Palm Shade Hotel. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

DAY 4: El Molo Land

Visit the El Molo tribe, the existing smallest tribe at risk of extinction. Their only survival in the salty Lake water is fishing of tilapia and crocodiles as their only survival foods. It is a credit to this under privileged tribe. Visit the desert museum where you see all the northern tribes hardware and what they have used along the history of their lives. Meals and overnight at Palm Shade Hotel. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

DAY 5: Turkana

Loyangalani is the centre of four tribes; Turkana, Rendile, Samburu and El molo. Today we spend the day with the Turkana people within the Turkana region occupying the area all round lake Turkana. Lake Turkana is the longest desert lake in the world history previously known as lake Rudolph. We will visit three of Turkana villages, knowing their way of survival in this hardship region of northern frontier district. Meals and overnight at Palm Shade Hotel. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

DAY 6: Loiyangalani – Maikona (Gabra People) – 6 hours

After breakfast, we head further North enjoying the beautiful views. We pass through North Horr which an area inhabited by the Gabra tribe. We visit the one standing sand dune before entering the Chalbi desert through Kalacha centre and proceed for an overnight stay in Maikona in a Catholic mission facility. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

DAY 7: Maikona- Marsabit (Borana and Chalbi Desert) – 3 hours

Maikona is a centre for the Borana tribe living along the Chalbi desert. We will visit their village and also visit the longest sand dunes. We later depart for the drive to Marsabit town for overnight stay. Dinner and overnight at Big Tusks Hotel. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

DAY 8: Marsabit – Nairobi (9 hours drive OR 5 hours drive and flight)

We will have a leisurely breakfast today. Thereafter we depart for a road trip through the Agricultural-rich Central Kenya drive back to Nairobi arriving in the evening for a drop-off in Nairobi. Alternatively, we can drop you off at Isiolo for a flight to Nairobi. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
